Take Action

A gift in someone’s name.

Honor someone you love — or remember someone you’ve lost — by funding clean water for a community that didn’t have it.

A tribute gift for lasting worth

A tribute gift to Savannah Water Project funds real, named work. Depending on the gift level, that might be a co-sponsored well, a full well dedicated in the honoree's name, or a multi-village commitment. We send acknowledgment to the person you’re honoring (or to a family member you designate), explaining the gift and where the work will happen.

Tier 1

$3,000 — co-sponsor a well

Funds a substantial portion of a borehole project in partnership with another donor. The honoree's name appears alongside the co-sponsor in the project record on our website and on the village's project page. You'll receive a project briefing once the well is selected and again when it's complete.

Tier 2

$6,000 — a full well

Funds an entire well project from drilling through community handover. A physical plaque acknowledging the honoree is installed at the site, with the community's consent. The well is associated with the honoree's name on its detail page on our website, and we send you photos, costs, and field notes once the project is complete.

Tier 3

$10,000 and up — multiple wells

Funds a multi-village commitment in the honoree's name. For families establishing a memorial or organizations honoring a founder, this scale lets us commit to a defined set of villages and report back on the full set as work progresses.

Visit the well

For donors at the full-well tier and above, we offer the option of visiting the site in person. Our team is in northern Ghana multiple times every year, and we can coordinate a visit alongside one of our scheduled field trips.

This isn’t a curated voluntourism experience — it’s a chance to see the work, meet the community, and understand what the gift built.

If a visit is something you or the honoree's family would like to discuss, tell us when you make the gift.

Sustaining the wells already built

A gift in someone’s honor doesn’t have to fund a new well. For many honorees — particularly those being remembered — there’s something fitting about supporting the wells already in the ground. Maintenance, spare parts, and the visits that keep them flowing are what turn a one-time project into a ten-year commitment.

A monthly tribute gift in someone’s name, dedicated to the support and maintenance of existing wells, keeps water flowing for thousands of people every year. We acknowledge the gift the same way — letter to the honoree or family — and update you on the wells the gift is supporting.
